McNairy County Robbery Believed to be Connected with Corinth Robbery

EASTVIEW, Tenn. — After taking $260 from a Dollar General on Eastview in McNairy County, officials believe that two men drove to Corinth, Mississippi where they stole another $4,033 from a Dollar General there around 10 p.m. Sunday. The suspect entered the store wearing a ski mask and holding a gun. The driver of the vehicle, George Atkins Jr., has been arrested. Paul Allen Downer, who is believed to have robbed the store, has not been arrested. A woman who works at the Corinth Dollar General, Jessica Smith, was behind the counter at the time of the theft. Smith has since been arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Her bond is set at $5,000 and she’s currently still in custody.
