Man Indicted on Rape and Incest Charges

MADISON COUNTY — John David Jones, 37, of Marshall County, Ky., was indicted by the Madison County grand jury Monday for statutory rape and incest involving a 17-year-old girl. Jones remains in custody at the Madison County Jail on $75,000 bond. Jones is scheduled to be arraigned next Monday in Madison County Circuit Court. On Oct. 10, a Kentucky mother reported the allegation to police. Jackson police investigators learned that on Oct. 6, Jones and the girl had sex while staying at a Jackson hotel. Jones was arrested Oct. 11 by Kentucky authorities. Jones later waived extradition back to Tennessee, and he was booked into the Madison County Jail on Oct. 16.
