Marcus Dupree to Speak at Diabetes Event

JACKSON, Tenn.- Former football legend Marcus Dupree will be in Jackson Tuesday, not to talk about being recruited as a high schooler to O.U. or his time in the NFL, but about his battle with diabetes. Jackson-Madison County General Hospital is hosting a free seminar in the J. Walter Barnes Auditorium, where Dupree will talk about his diagnosis in 2009 and how he maintains a healthy life. There will also be medical professionals on-hand to talk about the seriousness and risks of diabetes. “The earlier we can see that we are headed in that direction, if we can make a few changes on the front end it does last,” said Kathy Woolfork, RN at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. The free seminar si scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Reservations are not required.
