Emergency Crews Respond To Fire in South Jackson

SOUTH JACKSON — A fire on the 400 block of Chester Levee Road has been contained, according to fire officials. The fire call went out at around 2:20 p.m. and was considered to be contained right before 3 p.m. According to fire officials, the fire is under investigation but is considered to have been started when the homeowner tried to thaw his frozen pipes. The house was empty and there were no injuries reported.
