New Mayor’s Salary to Increase 27 Percent

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A special group of Jackson city leaders voted unanimously to increase the new mayor’s salary nearly $29,000, Tuesday morning. The pay increase, which will boost the pay from $101, 200 to $130,000, will take effect on July 1st, 2015. This is a 27 percent raise. The raise is based on factors such as cost of living, period of time without raise and population.
