Commissioner Visits Jackson THP Office

JACKSON, Tenn.-Tennessee’s Department of Safety and Homeland Security Commissioner made a couple of stops in West Tennessee, Tuesday, with one here in the Hub City. Commissioner Bill Gibbons paid a visit to the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s Jackson District Headquarters to talk with troopers. The commissioner has spent the summer meeting with troopers in districts across the state. Gibbons said he wants to see how things are going for those out on the roads on a daily basis. “We spend a lot of time today talking about the importance of being a proactive law enforcement agency of having and impact on the bottom line of public safety and being data-driven in terms of how we deploy our resources,” said Commissioner Bill Gibbons with the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security. Gibbons said he applauds the efforts of troopers to get DUI drivers of the state’s roadways.
