High Dollar Heist Connected to Multi-State Crime Ring

HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. — Investigators with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office said the two men who took more than $50,000 worth of equipment from Coleman Tractor Company could be connected to a multi-state crime ring. “These two thieves are not amateurs,” explained Sheriff Monte Belew. “We believe they are a part of a ring that’s going to involve multiple cities, counties, and multiple states.” Robin Paschall, manager of Coleman Tractor Company tells WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News all of their equipment is disabled so that they can not turn on, but two men can be seen on surveillance video getting three RTV’s started with in minutes. “They took approximately eight minutes to get first one started,” Paschall said. “The second one they got started a little bit quicker, about 4 minutes.” Paschall said the high dollar heist happened Saturday night, but because they have more than 300 pieces of equipment on their lot, they did not notice the RTV’s missing for days. The sheriff’s office said similar burglaries have occurred across Tennessee, and in at least two other states. “We believe they are a part of a ring that’s going to involve multiple cities, counties, and multiple states,” Belew said. “It’s obviously people that are in and out that are not really from here,” Paschall said. Anyone who was driving along Highway 218 Saturday between 9:15-10:30 p.m. and may have seen suspicious activity is asked to call Henry County’s Crime Tip Hotline (731) 642-0929. A $2,000 reward is being offered.
