Weakley County Teacher Fired After Charges

WEAKLEY Co. Tenn. — Members of the Weakley County school board voted unanimously to dismiss a former Gleason High School teacher after being charged with allegedly giving his students drugs and alcohol. Board members tell WBBJ they voted to fire Ryan Burke during Thursday night’s school board meeting. Burke was previously suspended without pay following charges of contributing to the delinquency of a child and and two counts of providing alcohol to a minor. Investigators say he supplied alcohol and marijuana to four male Gleason High School students. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
