One Injured After Shooting Overnight in Savannah

SAVANNAH, Tenn. – Savannah Police are investigating an overnight shooting on Counce Drive. Investigator TJ Barker tells WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News that police received the call just before 10:00 Tuesday night. Barker said 15 rounds were fired, 14 of which hit a home. The rounds were from a .40 caliber firearm and an AK rifle.The victim was hit in the right leg. The house sustained about $5,000 damage in the incident, the report says, and vehicles belonging to Beard and Nichols were also damaged. Police are currently searching for two suspects. Barker says the motive is unclear, but may have stemmed from a personal confrontation. According to the incident report, the victim‘s girlfriend, Vynderlin Nichols, 25, told officers Beard had gone outside to smoke when she heard several shots fired. The shots appeared to have been fired from beside a shed at the back of the house.
