EAST JACKSON — Fire officials say they believe they know what caused Tuesday’s fire on East Forrest Ave that blocked traffic for hours. Deputy Chief David Dillingham said it looked like a space heater caused the fire. Apparently the space heater was no being used correctly, and was trying to keep something warm inside the house. Fire officials say the fire is not suspicious at this time. The person who owns the home still has personal belongings inside. Dillingham says fire and smoke destroyed the home. No one was injured and no one was home at the time. The person who owns the house wasn’t living there at the time, but still had stuff inside the home.
