Police investigating shooting in Murfreesboro
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) – Police in Murfreesboro say one person has been killed and another injured in a shooting near an apartment complex.
About 12 hours after the shooting Tuesday morning, multiple media outlets reported, police arrested 22-year-old Anthony P. Smith, of Christiana, and charged him with first-degree murder in the death of 23-year-old Christopher Turley.
Smith’s bond was set at $500,000, and he is due in court April 24.
A second person was taken to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital with minor injuries.
Officers say witnesses at a nearby apartment complex reported hearing one shot and a car speeding away before police arrived at the scene.
