Nashville event to remember life of Maya Angelou
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Nashville’s main library is hosting an event on Monday to remember Maya Angelou.
Dr. Angelou, as she liked to be addressed out of respect for all the honorary degrees she received, died May 28 at age 86.
Nashville Remembers Maya Angelou is an opportunity for the community to gather and reflect on her life, words and work.
It is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in the auditorium on the first floor of the downtown library. It’s free and open to the public.
The event is part of an ongoing partnership between Nashville Public Library Special Collections Division, the Tennessee Tribune, and Culture Fest.
