New Tennessee Arts Commission Exec. Director Visits Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Tennessee Arts Commission‘s Executive Director visited Jackson at speak with artists and supporters of the arts. Ann Pope, who took the position in May, met with West Tennesseans at the Ned R. McWherter Cultural Arts Center, Tuesday. “Having arts in a community makes and defines who we are as a people. I think it’s very wonderful to see here in Jackson and west Tennessee how strong and alive the arts are,” said Pope. The Commission invests public money with non-profit organizations that provide serivices to citizens, artists and art organizations.
