We ask residents why they chose to buy a ticket and what they would if they were to win the Powerball.

“I just wanted to buy one to get lucky. If I win, it will go to my wife first though,” said local resident, Justin Reed, .

Some people played for both the Mega Million jackpot and the Powerball, even buying 30 tickets at a time.

Jackson resident, Erik Shefer says he comes to buy a ticket everyday and if he wins there is a lot he will do with the money.

“First I will tithe into the church, give 10% to the church, make sure some things are taken care of and more stuff” said Shefer.

Employees at Old Medina Market say they have had over a thousand people in one day come to buy a ticket and they expect more to come.
