JMCSS plans bonuses, raises for teachers
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson-Madison County School System is planning to give teaching staff bonuses and raises, according to a news release.

The release says the school system was able to identify funding for a raise and two bonuses for certified and non-certified employees.
In May, certified staff will receive a $280 bonus, and non-certified staff will receive a $200 bonus, according to the release. Contract employees will also be included in the bonuses, which will be based on the terms of their contracts.
The second bonuses are scheduled for December and will include a $1,500 tag for certified staff and $1,000 for non-certified staff, the release says.
The budget proposals will be presented to the full school board during Monday’s work session.
The district’s budget committee will create a draft of the fiscal year 2022 budget in the coming days, according to the release.
