Bridgestone relocating headquarters in Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Bridgestone Americas plans to relocate its headquarters to downtown Nashville in a new facility expected to create more than 600 jobs in Davidson County.
Gov. Bill Haslam joined Mayor Karl Dean and other officials at a press conference on Tuesday to make the announcement.
The Japanese tire maker has outgrown its current headquarters near the Nashville International Airport.
The headquarters will house employees currently based in Nashville, as well as those from three out-of-state business units that are being relocated to the city.
The 514,000-square-foot, 30-story headquarters is valued at more than $232 million. It’s expected to be completed in 2017.
