Riders & Rockabilly BBQ, music fest coming this weekend

JACKSON, Tenn. — Music and the sweet smell of barbecue will fill the air of the Jackson Fairgrounds Park this Fourth of July Weekend. The Riders and Rockabilly Rally and Blues Hog BBQ and Music Festival will feature a professional barbecue competition and live music. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. The barbecue contest is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society. Attendees can watch teams cook and also will be able to sample some of the barbecue in the People’s Choice Awards category. The Parkway Christian Auto Club will host a classic car show Saturday morning, and the Bicentennial Exchange Club and Sports Orthopedic and Spine of Jackson are hosting a 5K run Friday evening. Several motorcycle dice runs also will raise money for local and West Tennessee charities.
