MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — A man was arrested Saturday on accusations of hitting two women with a cane in a bar before the owner pulled a gun on him. William Arnold Jr. is accused of entering a bar on Westover Road around 9:30 p.m. with a woman and hitting her in the head with a cane after an argument over a phone charger, according to a report from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say Arnold then hit another woman who worked there when she tried to intervene. The employee then threatened Arnold with a baseball bat but he still refused to leave, the report states. When Arnold continued to be aggressive, the owner of the bar pulled a gun from her purse behind the counter, pointed it at Arnold and told him to leave, according to the report. Deputies arrived and arrested Arnold on charges of aggravated domestic assault and aggravated assault.
