Investigators treating Knoxville woman’s death as homicide
VONORE, Tenn. (AP) – Authorities say they are investigating the death of a 42-year-old woman found in a Monroe County creek earlier this month as a homicide.
The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1Gjnf9E ) reports that the victim was identified as Kelly Shay Cozart, who most recently lived in Knoxville.
According to a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation news release Monday, Cozart’s body was discovered off Tellico Lake in the Vonore area on the night of July 1.
Investigators did not know how long the body had been there.
