Camden head football coach William Blow knew his biggest obstacle heading into the off-season was defense. The Lions lost 10 starters. Blow’s remedy to filling that gap is practicing it repeatedly. “Everyday we’ve been in the summer, we’ve done some type of defensive drills,” Blow said. “We’ve done our own seven on seven amongst ourselves.” The Lions won’t have to worry about their running back. DeShawn Brown returns to the backfield after rushing for nearly 2,500 yards last season. “I think Brown has already established himself,” Blow said. “We have to establish we can so some other things on offense and that we can play defense.” When it comes to playing in the Region 6, there’s not much adjusting to do for Camden. The only team they’re unfamiliar with is Sycamore. The Lions finished 9-3 last season. Their run ended in the second round of the playoffs against Milan.
