JACKSON, Tenn. — A 5-year-old boy is rescued by a good Samaritan on Wednesday after he is seen walking along the Highway 45 bypass, according to the child’s family. According to the child’s parents, he usually is picked up from school. However, they say after the child told a teacher he was supposed to ride the bus, the boy was dropped off near his home. However, the child told his father since he didn’t know his way home, he started walking toward where his mother works. His dad says he is grateful for the woman who saw his son and gave him a ride. The school system issued a release addressing the issue, saying an Arlington Elementary student designated as a car-rider was inadvertently placed on a school bus “A search involving several highly concerned individuals ensued and the student was located, returned to the school and released to the parents,” the release states. “School officials are evaluating the circumstances that lead to the incident and will work to insure that additional precautions are taken to assure this does not occur in the future.”
