Deputy Injured in Chase; Suspect Caught

A Hardeman County deputy was injured on the job Wednesday morning. Captain Mike Kennamore, was released from the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital Wednesday afternoon, with a broken collar bone and a large gash to the head. Hardeman County Sheriff John Doolen, said it all started with a stolen truck, and an officer who did his job. Captain Kennamore chased a stolen vehicle in Bolivar on Highway 125 north when he lost control of his patrol car around a sharp curve. The deputy was immediately rushed to the Jackson hospital where he was treated and later, released. 30 minutes after the deputy crashed, the suspect lost control of the stolen vehicle, and he too, crashed. “Captain Kennamore was in an accident in Hardeman County the thief was in an accident when they tried to stop him in McNairy County,” said Sheriff Doolen. Sheriff Doolen said Darius Moore was caught after he wrecked. The suspect had a gun on him. “It could of potentially saved someone else’s life, because he’s been known to be involved with crimes with weapons,” said Sheriff Doolen. Moore was charged with theft of motor vehicle and was in custody at the Hardeman County jail. He was treated for minor injures.
