CNN Analyst Speaks at Union Forum

A nationally known political analyst-columnist was on the campus of Union University Forum Lecture Series. Paul Begala, who works for CNN, is the author of best-selling books, “Buck up, Suck Up and Come Back When You Foul-Up”, and “Is Our Children Learning?” The Texas native worked to direct political strategy for Bill Clinton in the 1992 presidential primary and define the administration’s agenda on economic, domestic and international issues. “If you don’t engage…if the good people don’t engage it, then there’s nothing left but the bad people. So I really try to persuade people to get engaged in the political system. because I think it’s fun for one thing, but it’s also very consequential, “said Paul Begala, a CNN analyst. “I know this is a really difficult, sometimes ugly campaign, but that’s what the founding fathers wanted, and as long as we’re not shooting each other, this can be really good, and it can be fun, and I try to bring a little of that sense of joy back to politics.” For 12 years, Union has hosted some of the nation’s top speakers to address important political, social, business and religious topics.
