Arrest Made in Club Karma Shooting

Jackson police have made an arrest in connection with the mass shooting inside Club Karma. Travis Steed, 30, is charged with opening fire inside the club. He faces two counts of aggravated assault and one count of having a firearm as a convicted felon. Investigators said around 2 a.m. on February 26, Steed pulled out a gun inside Club Karma to confront a 22-year-old Memphis man and fired into a group of people. Police have identified two other gunmen who returned fire, striking Steed several times. Including Steed, 18 people were shot, one of who died, Lecarlos Todd, 19, Todd of Memphis. Steed was released from The Med in Memphis, Thursday and immediately taken into custody. He is currently on parole for 2005 charges of cocaine possession and reckless endangerment. He will return to court on these new charges Monday. Officers said the investigation into Todd’s murder continues.
