Jackson Residents Raise Money For Relay For Life
Dozens of Jackson residents and motocycle riders got together Saturday to raise money for Relay For Life. Organizers with the Relay team, Vista Host, told 7 Eyewitness News they wanted to put on one big event to raise at least $8,000 to fight cancer. About 40 bikers participated in the poker run in the morning. And that is just one of the many activities that took place – there were also games, face painting, and a karaoke contest, with all donations going to Relay For Life. “There are so many people that are affected by it. Even if you are not the person battling cancer you have somebody in your family that has been through it, people have had loved ones that have passed away. It hits everybody you know, children up to the elderly. It is really improtant for us to find a cure for this terrible, terrible disease,” said organizer Brittany Crouse. The Battle of the Bands competition started at 6:30 p.m. on Liberty Street in Downtown Jackson, and lasted until midnight.
