The Jackson-Madison County Library System held a meet-and-greet for its new library director, Wednesday evening. Members of the Jackson community visited the library to meet Bill Johnson, who has been serving as the library’s new director for the past month. Johnson has worked in libraries for 30 years and has served as the assistant director of public services at the Winter Park Public Library in Florida. Johnson said he looks forward to working with the library board and with the community. “One of my priorities would be to increase the circulation, increase the patrons that feel comfortable about coming to the main library downtown,” said Bill Johnson, director of the Jackson-Madison County Library. Johnson also said he wants to get more people to come to the downtown library.
