A Madison County deputy is safe despite being shot at Monday morning while responding to a call. Investigators believe Timothy Minner, 46, of Jackson is the one who pulled the trigger, striking the squad car with shotgun pellets. Deputies expect to file charges as soon as Minner’s mental evaluation is complete. Deputies believed Minner called 911 to a home along Barnes Road just before 2 a.m., Monday and made up a story of a man and woman being held at gunpoint. Minner is accused of shooting at the deputy when he pulled up, then quickly surrendered. I
