Circles of Hope Telethon Coming in August
JACKSON, Tenn. – An annual event raising money to help prevent child abuse is set to be held in August. The Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse will host the 29th annual Circles of Hope Telethon on August 12. It will air from 1:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on WBBJ ABC 7. Friday, the center hosted a media appreciation luncheon in advance of the telethon. The fundraising event helps support the 18 child abuse prevention centers throughout West Tennessee. During the last year, the centers provided free services to more than 16,000 individuals. The telethon will be hosted by many local media personalities including 7 Eyewitness News anchors Keli McAlister and Tom Britt, Meteorologist Brittany Patterson, Steve Bowers from Jackson Energy Authority, Conrad Delaney and, of course, Cousin Tuny.
