Jackson Walk Progressing; LIFT to Open Memberships

JACKSON, Tenn. – A downtown Jackson construction project is making significant progress. Jackson Walk is scheduled to open in January 2013. The project includes the LIFT Wellness Center which is run by West Tennessee Healthcare. LIFT is an abbreviation from Living in a Fit Tennessee. LIFT is a first of its kind in West Tennessee in the region fitness center. The facility will be a gym, physical and aquatic therapy center and medical clinic. “You can get everything from one on one personal training, nutrition counseling, diabetic education, disease management. It’s going to be customized to every member,” said Dr. Lisa Piercy, West Tennessee Healthcare‘s Vice-President of Hospital Services. The facility will also feature a large walking track, three indoor pools and a rock climbing wall. A preview event is scheduled for Saturday, July 21 at Pringles Park during the Jackson Generals baseball game. There will be more information, and, for the first time, people will be able to sign up for memberships to the new center.
