Man Faces Multiple Sexual Battery Charges

HENDERSON CO., Tenn.-A man has been taken into custody facing multiple sexual battery charges involving young children. John Higdon was arrested from a home in South Henderson County, Monday morning for allegedly sexually assaulting two children. He was first suspected of sexually assaulting an underage relative in McKenzie in 2002, but was never arrested. Investigators said when he was living with a friend earlier this year he was suspected of sexually assaulting a child in the house multiple times. Officials were not able to locate him until Monday, and was taken into custody. 7 Eyewitness News was able to speak with the mother-in-law of the man Higdon was living with when he was arrested. She wished to remain anonymous. “Yeah, I’m shocked I didn’t know nothing like that happened. He just comes and stays every so often then leaves and so I didn’t think nothing like that happened,” said the woman. Higdon was transported from Henderson County to the Carroll County jail, where he remained on a $125,000 bond.
