Man Arrested; Charged with Aggravated Asaualt in Shooting

An argument at a business in east Jackson Friday afternoon, ends in gunfire, landing one man behind bars. Rodney Person, 41, was arrested and now faces charges of aggravated assault and resisting arrest According to police, Person had gotten into an altercation with an employee at the Super Duper Mini Mart a little after 3:30. He left, returning a couple of hours later, threatening the employee with a gun. “He reached as if he had a weapon, placing them in fear and they believed that he believed he did have a weapon, said Lt. Tyreece Miller of the Jackson Police Department “And once he stepped outside, that’s when a shot was fired.” Person was captured a short time later, after leading police on a brief foot pursuit near an apartment complex. He will be formally arraigned on Monday in Jackson City Court.
