Man dies when Nashville home catches fire
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Authorities say a morning house fire killed a Nashville man.
The blaze broke out around 6:30 a.m. Monday in the northeastern part of the city.
WSMV-TV (http://bit.ly/1enkTt ) reported the man who died was 61 years old and was in the basement when the fire began and fire officials said he likely succumbed to smoke inhalation.
The victim’s wife, son and three grandchildren were upstairs and safely got out of the burning home. The victim’s name wasn’t immediately released.
Officials said the fire appears to have been accidental.
