Ala. man sentenced in 11 bank robberies
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) – Federal prosecutors say a man who pleaded guilty in a series of 11 bank robberies has been sentenced to seven years in prison.
Officials said Wednesday that 33-year-old Cedrick Lamond Hicks of Huntsville – known as the “Ball Cap Bandit” – is also ordered to pay more than $63,000 in restitution to banks he targeted.
Authorities say Hicks, who wore a baseball cap during the robberies, targeted 10 banks in Alabama and one in Tennessee between 2012 and 2013.
