Deputies investigating body found in burned car
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Deputies in Knox County are investigating human remains found in a burned vehicle in Powell.
Sheriff’s Office Maj. Mike MacLean told the Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/ZTxoMT ) there’s no indication of foul play, but the cause of the fire remained a mystery Monday.
MacLean says a person’s remains were found in the driver’s seat of a 1999 Buick Century. MacLean thinks the remains are associated with the residents of a nearby street because witnesses told investigators the vehicle was normally parked there.
MacLean says the Knox County Medical Examiner’s Office will be in charge of identifying the individual found in the vehicle.
