Nashville New Year’s bash draws record crowd

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Nashville’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration brought a record crowd of 130,000 this year as the Bash on Broadway was broadcast for the first time on ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.

This was the sixth year for the Nashville celebration, which featured a performance by Lady Antebellum and a giant music note dropping at the stroke of midnight.

Butch Spyridon is president of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. He told The Tennessean (http://tnne.ws/1vxFZ02) the national broadcast showed off the city at its best.

Spyridon said based on how well things went this week, the broadcast could return to Nashville to help ring in 2016.
