Von Drehle locates paper machine facility in Natchez.
NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) – Von Drehle, a paper products supplier, has broken ground on a paper machine facility in Natchez.
The groundbreaking was held Monday.
Von Drehle acquired the former Mississippi River Pulp facility in 2013. The project represents an estimated $100 million incorporate investment and will create at least 100 jobs with the potential to increase to 150 when completed.
Von Drehle President and CEO Randy Bergman says the machine is capable of producing 30,000 tons annually.
The Mississippi Development Authority provided $500,000 for the construction of an access road to the new facility. Adams County provided assistance in the form of tax abatements.
Established in 1974, von Drehle maintains manufacturing operations in North Carolina, Nevada and Tennessee. The Hickory, North Carolina-based company sells paper products to industrial and commercial customers.
