Allegiant Air adding Memphis flights

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Discount airline Allegiant Air says it is adding non-stop flights from Memphis to Las Vegas and the Florida cities of Orlando and Fort Lauderdale.

Allegiant said Tuesday that flights from Memphis will begin on May 22, with one-way fares starting at $42. The airline does charge extra fees for checked and carry-on baggage, advance seat selection and credit card transactions.

According to a news release from the airline, the flights to Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Las Vegas McCarran International Airport and Orlando Sanford International Airport will operate twice weekly.

The Commercial Appeal reports that Allegiant is the second ultra-low-cost carrier to serve Memphis, along with Frontier Airlines.
