Suspect pleads guilty to lesser count in death of man

JACKSON, Tenn.- The suspect charged with trying to kill a man in a shooting in west Jackson last July pleads guilty to a lesser count. Carlnelius Williams was charged with attempted first degree murder in the shooting of a 20-year-old on Tracewood Cove. In a deal with the state, he has been allowed to plead to a lesser count of attempted second degree murder and a firearms count. As part of the deal he must spend the next 16 years in state prison.
