Woman accused of brandishing baseball bat at boyfriend

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A woman appeared in Jackson City Court Tuesday to face accusations of brandishing a baseball bat at her boyfriend during an argument. According to court papers, Kimberly Hughes admitting to waiting Monday in the bedroom of a South Royal Street residence with a baseball bat to confront her boyfriend for cheating on her. She allegedly told officers she confronted him with the bat but did not hit him. The man told police they started arguing when he saw the bat and that he started telling her he had not cheated on her, according to an affidavit. Hughes is charged with aggravated domestic assault. She is free on a $2,500 bond.
