DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A Jackson woman went before a judge Tuesday morning on a domestic assault charge stemming from an argument with her husband. Police responded to a domestic disturbance just after midnight Monday at a Campbell Street home, according to an affidavit. Officers spoke with Charity Lavia, who told them she and her husband got into an argument when she accused him of hiding a list of chores, the document states. She told police her husband had grabbed and squeezed both her arms. She did not have visible injuries, according to police. When officers spoke with her husband, he told them she had struck him during the argument and pulled on his shirt, ripping the fabric.
