Accused gunman charged with shooting man in face during drug deal appears in court

JACKSON, Tenn. — A man police say shot another man in the face during a drug deal in April appeared Thursday afternoon in Jackson City Court.

Almonda Duckworth appeared for his preliminary hearing.

The victim testified, saying Duckworth and another man came to his apartment at Parkway East Apartments, also known as 33 Carver, on April 25 and shot him in the face after buying marijuana from him.

Duckworth’s case was bound over to the grand jury.
