Staying Mild Through Tomorrow, Heavy Rain At Times On Friday.
Weather Update – 9:25 a.m. – Thursday
High humidity, calm winds and mild temperatures made conditions right for fog to form in our area these last few days. Because of that, all of West Tennessee was under a Dense Fog Advisory this morning until 9am. That will clear out but we are staying under mostly cloudy skies today, warming up more compared to yesterday, with highs in the low 60s. Mild temperatures last through Friday but we are focusing on the rain returning tomorrow through Saturday, which will be heavy at times.
TODAY:
It’s been quite an unsettled weather pattern all week. We do have a break from that today, staying dry and calm under mostly cloudy skies. Today and Tomorrow will be the last days we’ll see in a while with temperatures this mild. We stay mild going into the night only dropping into the 50s, well above average this time of year. Cloud cover will increase overnight as well as the chance of rain coming our way tomorrow.
Next system bringing in rain our way once again. Many areas should starting seeing a chance of showers overnight tonight but most can expect it to start around 5-6a.m. and becoming heavy at times. This will last all day going into the first half of the day on Saturday. Models showing most of the rain right along Interstate 40 with up to 1 to 2 inches possible; the highest totals could end up between 3 and 6 inches.
After the cold front moves through it will bring in some colder air behind it, with highs in the 40s all weekend. Will be even colder by Christmas as highs only peak around 40°F with sunshine back in our forecast.
