JMCSS officials discuss policy changes
JACKSON, Tenn. — Local school leaders discussed potential changes to several district policies.
Jackson-Madison County School leaders discussed several policies within the district and the Tennessee State Board of Education.
Some of the topics on Tuesday’s agenda included checking employee certifications annually and the way that the district posts job openings.
The district is currently considering reimbursing new hires for pre-employment background checks and screenings.
“What Dr. King is trying to do is to check with other districts because he wants to be competitive with the other districts and make sure that we’re doing what other districts in the area are doing,” said JMCSS School Board Attorney Dale Thomas.
Thomas said the discussion would be tabled until Superintendent Dr. Marlon King had more information on the topic.
