West TN Healthcare discusses budget, YMCA partnership in monthly meeting
JACKSON, Tenn. — West Tennessee Healthcare‘s board of trustees held their monthly meeting Tuesday.
An important topic was a presentation from the YMCA to continue their partnership.
The YMCA provides child care services to employees of the hospital.
Right now, they have a 78 children enrolled, and plan to grow that number with the renovation of their building.
Another important topic was approving their operating and capital budget for fiscal year 2025.
The budget for 2025 will see a 5% growth in revenue and a 3% growth in expenses.
They are budgeting a decline in operating margin due to the implementation of a new electronic medical records system at a cost of $16 million dollars.
“That’s something that we’ve been planning for. We knew that this electronic medical record conversion was going to take place next year. We’ve been planning for that for years. We had some expenses this year for that so we’ll continue to see that going forward,” said Amy Garner, chief compliance and communications officer for West Tennessee Healthcare.
The next West Tennessee Healthcare board of trustees meeting will be held July 30.
