Richard Gary Lawrence
He was born on January 12, 1953, in Jackson, Tennessee, to the late Jack and Barbara Lawrence.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Ann Lawrence.
Dick was a farmer all of his life and proudly ran Tall Oak Farms alongside his brothers and father.
He is survived by his children, Sunnye Lawrence (AC) and Richard Lawrence II (Leah); his granddaughters, Nora Lawrence and Lynlee Lawrence; his brothers, Jack Lawrence and Jon Lawrence; his nephew, Trey Lawrence; and his nieces, Shea Thweat, Kristi Price, and Haley Lawrence.
Dick had many close friends and family who meant the world to him. He was an avid duck hunter — it was in his blood. The outdoors and the land were a way of life for him. Whether in the fields or in the duck blind, that was where he felt at home.
Dick was steady, strong, and tough as nails. He faced life head-on and never backed down.
Our family could not have made this journey without the wonderful women who cared so deeply for him. We are forever grateful to Lori, Brandy, Carolyn, Angel, Dyestine, and Cynthia for the care, compassion, and support they showed him and our family.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Dick Lawrence will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Ridgecrest Cemetery with Alan Verrell officiating. Burial will follow the service.
