Marilyn Virginia Harris
Marilyn Virginia Harris, age 80 of Paris, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026, at Jackson Madison Co. General Hospital. Her funeral service will be on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM at McEvoy Funeral Home with Craig Peevyhouse officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday at McEvoy Funeral Home after 9:30 AM. Family Members will be serving as pallbearers.
Marilyn Harris was born December 14, 1945, in Bainbridge, GA, to the late Marion Jefferson Harrell and the late Martha Virginia Kain Hartley. On July 14, 1968, she married Raymond Leonard Harris, Sr., and he preceded her in death on April 16, 2018.
Ms. Harris was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and a former Sunday School Teacher. She worked at Murray McKenzie Jewelers, Wal-Mart, and was a Homemaker. She was a former girls’ little league coach, an avid bowler, and she loved arts and crafts.
Marilyn Harris is survived by her daughters: Pam (Darren) Brooks, of Austin, TX, and Tracy (Jason) Wrye of Winchester, TN; her son, Ray (Angie) Harris of Paris, TN; grandchildren: Dillon (Maddie) Brooks, Garet Brooks, Hunter Brooks, Cole Brooks, Jessica (Jacob) Gomoljak, Natalie Gean, Dakota Ealey, and Hannah Dunning; great-grandchildren: Aria Brooks, Chloe Brooks, Laynie Ray Gomoljak, Henry Ealey, and Millie Ealey.
Besides her parents and husband, Ms. Harris was also preceded in death by her stepfather, William C. Hartley, and brothers: Cliff Hartley and Marion Jefferson Hartley.
