Mostly Sunny And Warmer Today

Weather Update: Monday May 4 —

Sfc Map Mon
Good Morning West Tennessee. we have a mild start to the morning. Temperatures range from low to upper 50s. There a veil of clouds over much of the region. Warm air advection extending from southern Plains to the lower Ohio Valley is both warming temps and transporting Pacific moisture into the region. The old cooler and drier air mass is still here at the surface slowly eroding. This configuration is the responsible party for the layer of clouds aloft. Other factors affecting today’s forecast will be a broad SW extension of the the Bermuda High Pressure over the Southeast. Meanwhile, a fairly potent upper trough will continue amplifying and expanding south from south-central Canada. It will be lead in by a surface cold front. The gradient between it an the ridge will create a fairly windy day, especially towards the Mississippi River; expect SW wind 5-15 mph today. Clouds will gradually decrease giving way to more sunshine with time. we’ll likely way steadily through the 60s and 70s. High around 78-80°F.
