Weather Update – 11:00 p.m. Wednesday
Temperatures are below freezing again for almost all of West Tennessee. Jackson has spent less than an hour above freezing over the last 48 hours. Clearing skies overnight will allow for temperatures in the low to mid 20s by sunrise at 6:47 a.m. Thursday.
Thursday will be warmer than Wednesday was. I think you’ll notice it since skies will be somewhat clearer overall and we should reach highs in the low to mid 40s – roughly 10° warmer than today. We’ll have a similar day on Friday with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies.
Saturday will be another bitter cold day with highs in the low to mid 30s despite having lots of sunshine. With gusty northerly winds, temperatures will feel like they’re in the low to mid 20s even during a sunny afternoon. If that cold sticks around long enough, it’s going to make for an interesting Sunday when an area of low pressure moves in. We’ll be watching the chance for a wintry mix in West Tennessee from Sunday into Monday. No word yet on exact timing or accumulation since we’re still several days away, but it’s something we’re monitoring since it has the potential to have travel impacts.
Stay with us for the latest updates. Have a great night!
