Red Sulphur Road closed to through traffic in Hardin County through Saturday

HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. — Red Sulphur Road will be closed to through traffic starting today through Saturday, May 9.

Drivers heading southbound to Red Sulphur Road can use Highway 47 to the four-way and the same route in the opposite direction, sticking to the main highway.

Hardin County EMA Director LaRae Sliger is urging drivers to slow down and watch for road crews and trucks working in that area.

“It’s just closed to thru-traffic, the big box trucks, log trucks, things along those lines. It makes it hard for the big debris trucks to go through there, so we did this much like we did Pighborn Road a couple weeks back. It makes it less dangerous for everybody, the public and the contractor,” said LaRae Sliger, EMA director for Hardin County.
