Community Foundation of West Tennessee now accepting proposals for Community Impact Grants

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF WEST TENNESSEE:

Community Foundation of West Tennessee Now Accepting Proposals for Community Impact Grants

Jackson, Tenn. – The Community Foundation of West Tennessee is accepting proposals from area nonprofits for its annual Community Impact Grants. These grants support programs and initiatives that benefit the residents of West Tennessee.

In recognition of its new focus, the Community Foundation is extending grant eligibility to all West Tennessee counties (excluding Shelby County). Applicants must be a 501 (c)(3) organization or an active fund of the Community Foundation in good standing.

“Since 2016, we have awarded over $272,000 through these grants. We are proud to see the funding grow and support our partners in the community,” said Beth Koffman, Chief Operating Officer for the Community Foundation. “We are excited to extend this funding opportunity to new areas of West Tennessee, and we look forward to learning about the organizations in those rural counties to see how these grants can make an impact for their residents.”

Last June, the Community Foundation awarded $55,000 to seven nonprofits in Madison County:

  • Boys & Girls Club of Jackson
  • Habitat for Humanity Jackson
  • Hands Up! Preschool
  • Jonah Affordable Housing
  • Regional Inter-Faith Association (RIFA)
  • United Way of West Tennessee
  • WRAP (Wo/Men’s Resource and Rape Assistance Program)

“These grants are vital pieces of our work in the community. Not only do they allow us to support the award recipients with funding for their projects, but we also have the opportunity to connect with the organization’s staff, meet the individuals who receive assistance, and volunteer,” said Haley Fortune, Community Outreach Associate for the Community Foundation. “Seeing the impact these grants make through firsthand service or reading feedback in project reports reinforces the need these dollars help meet.”

The deadline to apply for Community Impact Grants is April 12, 2024.
